Day wise itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Kaziranga

  • Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and begin your journey with a scenic drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the famous one-horned rhinoceros.
  • The journey takes you through lush plains and countryside.
  • On arrival, check in to your resort or lodge near the park. Spend the evening at leisure or enjoy a local tribal dance performance (subject to availability).
  • Overnight in Kaziranga
Day 2: Kaziranga Safari – Transfer to Shillong
  • Early morning, embark on a thrilling jeep safari in the central or western range of Kaziranga National Park to spot rhinos, elephants, wild buffaloes, deer, and various bird species in their natural habitat.
  • After breakfast, check out and begin the drive to Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya.
  • On the way, enjoy a photo stop at Umiam Lake, a scenic man-made reservoir surrounded by hills. Reach Shillong by evening and check in to your hotel.
  • Overnight in Shillong
Day 3: Shillong Local Sightseeing
  • After breakfast, explore the charming city of Shillong. Start with a visit to Shillong Peak, the highest point in the city, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding hills. Next, head to the beautiful Elephant Falls, followed by a visit to the Don Bosco Museum, one of the finest ethnographic museums in Northeast India.
  • Take a stroll around Ward’s Lake, and also visit the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians.
  • In the evening, explore the local market at Police Bazaar.
  • Overnight in Shillong
Day 4: Shillong – Cherrapunji
  • Today, drive to Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. On the way, stop at the picturesque Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint for breathtaking valley views.
  • In Cherrapunji, explore the magnificent Nohkalikai Falls, India’s tallest plunge waterfall, and the striking Seven Sisters Falls.
  • Discover the fascinating Mawsmai Caves, known for their limestone formations, and visit Eco Park, which offers views of the plains of Bangladesh.
  • Overnight in Cherrapunji
    • Day 5: Cherrapunji – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong
    • Leave early for a full-day excursion. First, visit Mawlynnong, known as the cleanest village in Asia. Walk through its clean lanes and visit the Living Root Bridge in nearby Riwai village.
    • Then proceed to Dawki, located near the India-Bangladesh border. Enjoy a scenic boat ride on the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River.
    • After a peaceful time by the river, return to Shillong by evening.
    • Overnight in Shillong
    Day 6: Shillong – Guwahati
    • After breakfast, check out and drive back to Guwahati. On arrival, you can visit the Kamakhya Temple if time permits (optional), or relax by the Brahmaputra River. You may also explore local shops for Assam silk, handicrafts, and tea.
    • Enjoy a traditional Assamese meal or an evening river cruise on the Brahmaputra (subject to timing and availability).
    • Overnight in Guwahati
    Day 7: Departure from Guwahati
    • After breakfast, check out and proceed to Guwahati.
    • Airport or Railway Station for your return journey, completing your enriching trip through Assam and Meghalaya.
